TF High Chapter 24: Hound's tale

"Sam, Sam, come on wake up, Come on Sam don't make me do something I'll regret." Samantha stripes could hear Brandi talking but she couldn't understand a word. She felt like she did just before she was completely awake in the morning, floating somewhere between a dream and reality. "Alright you Made me do this Sam."  As Brandi finished speaking Sam felt something warm and wet run across her face finally jarring her back to reality. "Yuck dog drool!" Samantha said attempting to wipe the wet substance from her striped facial hair. "How do you think I feel?" Came Brandi's voice, looking down Samantha saw her, a scrappy stray blood hound, sticking out her tongue. "I had to lick your dirty, furry, face. Talk about yuck." The Dog chewed some grass. "Awful stuff but at least it's better than tiger fur." The dog said in Brandi's voice.

"Brandi is that really you?" The dog stopped at look up at Samantha. "Sheesh how many time do you need to hear me say it Sam, Yes it's me." Samantha began to look dizzy again. "Samantha Stripes don't you dare faint again or I swear I will bite you." "Wow, it really is you Brandi, What the hell happened to you?" Samantha asked trying to bring herself to terms with the situation. "Well ," brandi started It's not all very clear to me either let's see um…" Brandi sat in typical dog fashion and looked up thinking for a moment before using her back leg to scratch her side. "the last thing I remember…

We had just finishing busting Ms. Jasmine and I was just getting home for a good night's rest. My mom normally works late so I didn't have to worry about waking anyone. I went straight to room my dog was already in bed didn't even bother getting up to greet me, I crashed on my bed maybe a little too hard. I had forgotten about the bite Ms. Jasmine gave me earlier. The pain wasn't bad at first, it even seem to go away. Then it suddenly got really bad. It stared in my shoulder then it spread to my body, my legs ,my other arm, and eventually my head. I couldn't think, it was like every sense was in overdrive.

I could smell things miles away. I could taste the smallest bits of flavor in the air from old food particles to dust. Touch was like every cell in my body was being hammered flat. I saw every detail no matter where I looked cracks became canyons, and small bumps became like giant hills. Then my hearing It filled my head, it hurt worse than I thought anything could, my dog began to bark, at first it was shear agony, but then I..i not only heard him, I…  understood him. I could understand what my dog was saying, he was asking if I was alright, I freaked out, I started to run, I needed to run away. The house was growing around me, everything became massive I got out the door and kept running. I guess I was on all fours by then I don't remember standing upright. I ran out into the street, there was a bright light and… I don't remember much after that…
I woke up in the woods looking like this." "And you don't remember anything in between the light and when you came to?" Samantha asked. "No nothing at all… no, no wait," Brandi said as she  closed her eyes tightly to think. "I remember a dark place, a sharp pain in my side. And a woman in a white lab coat…Nurse Holly, it was nurse Holly I'm sure of it!" Brandi barked excitedly. "Then we have a problem, she's working with Wissler." "Damn seems like I missed a lot, I heard more students are being changed, and I saw Andrea right before. Did you find anything linking them yet?" Brandi asked. "No I was just wishing you were back so you could help me with that." Samantha replied "So why didn't you come by sooner, you could have told Andrea who you were." "Well, it was really strange," Brandi said as she started to stretch like dogs do before or after a long nap.

"Like I said I woke up looking like this earlier today, but at first it was like I didn't even remember being human, I knew what things were called who people were and where places were, but it was like I had been a dog my whole life. It wasn't until later I remembered being human, and it took even longer after that to remember to talk, when I first tried talk to anyone I could only bark, I tried to find someone I knew I hoped they would somehow know it was me. Luckily by the time I found you I was able to talk again, but nothing has changed physically, I think I may be stuck like this."

"Don't worry Brandi," Samantha said trying to reassure her now four-legged friend, "well go over to Peggy she might be able to come up with something to help fix you." "Alright lets go," Brandi barked cheerfully, as her tail wagged uncontrollably. "You can fill me in on what you found on the way so we can work on taking down Wissler and Nurse Holly.

       **********

"But I told you I don't go to school. Kids go to school, I stay at home." Max said in frustration. "Look son I just need your full name so I can pull up your school file." Coach Grey said trying to keep his temper in check. "Please do as he asks kid." Detective Strom urged as he gripped Max's shoulder. "I told you my name is Max." Max replied. "Max what? What is your last name?" Coach Grey asked "Last name?" Max replied as though he had never heard the term before. "Yes your family name the name that your called by after your first." Detective Strom replied. "You know the name your parents use when you are your siblings are in trouble that name." "Um…"Max stopped and looked around as if he was thinking. "You cannot possible be that stupid, stop messing around kid!" Strom yelled. "Hound," Max replied quickly as if he was frightened by the yelling, "My name is Max Hound."
Chapter 24: Flash back explaining Brandi's current puzzling state. quite the same feel as typical but that's okay.
