TF High Chapter One: A Small Problem


    It had been a long swimming practice and Toby Smalls was wiped out from trying to keep up with the rest of the guys. He sat in the locker room waiting for the other boys to leave before he came out to shower. It wasn't so much the fact that he was embarrassed of taking off his clothes in front of other guys, though that was a close second. It was more due to the fact that although being the same age as the rest of the swim team Toby Smalls was nearly a half foot shorter than anyone in the school. His parents and doctor assured him there was nothing to worry about, and that he would catch up at the back end of puberty but that was almost a year ago. Nearly every day the other guys would make fun of him."Are you sure you should be on swim team Smalls?" They would ask, "After all the life guards might think a baby fell in." Toby wasn't one to argue so he had taken to hiding after practice for the past week. But today was different. When the guys came in this time they didn't shower but began talking instead. 

    "Did you hear about that emergency over at GeneCorp earlier?" Chester asked the other boys. "Yeah I did." Herb replied, "It was suppose to be a false alarm though, no big deal." "I wouldn't be too sure about that." Joey pitched in, "I went by Principals Millers office right before her announcement today. I heard some pretty weird noises in there. I thought I'd take a look but before I could I saw something weird moving around."
"Really?" Herb asked, "What was it?"  "How should I know?!?" Joey replied, "Well I for one am not staying here any longer than I have to, I'm grabbing my stuff and ditching the rest of classes today. Anyone else up for it?" Ricky asked. "Sure." The guys all said in agreement, "Hey has anybody seen That shrimp Smalls? Bill asked, as they began to walk out. "Finally a lucky break." Toby thought to himself. Toby walked to the shower and began to rinse off, "I don't see why they have to be so mean to me." he began saying half to himself, which was his normal way of venting his feelings. "I mean I know I'm a bit small for my age, but why me in particular? I'm a nice enough guy, and the same age as most of the guys. So why don't I fit in?" Toby Slammed down the shower knob turning off the water. "Why do I have to be so small anyway? I mean they had to order 'special pair' of swim trunks for me." Toby remarked as he stepped out of the shower, and took a quick drink form the fountain. "All I really want is to have a normal trunk size." Toby remarked as he began to dry off, unaware that he was about to get what he wanted but not in the way he expected. His dark brown hair began to thin and spread out across his back.

    Toby's skin started to change to a shade of grey as he began to feel a slight tingling on the tips of his ears. He wrapped the towel around his waist, for the moment still unaware of the changes happening to him. That was until a sudden aching started on each side of his jaw. "Ow...what the heck is with my mouth? It feels swollen." As Toby raised his hand to inspect the source of the ache he is nearly thrown back when he discovers his now grey arm as become several times its normal size. "W-Whoa! Wh…What the hell is going on?!" He asked as the tingling spreads across the rest of his body. "Where's the mirror?! I need to see a mirror!" Asked Toby as he rushed toward the mirror; once there he was shocked to find that his face has turned the same shade of grey as the rest of his body and two small tusks are just starting to from, one on each side of his mouth. Suddenly the tingling suddenly becomes mild pain and looking down Toby begins to understand why as his form is growing for beyond that of a normal boy his age.

    "I'm growing so big I won't fit in the room in a few seconds! I have to get out of here and find help!" Toby exclaimed now rushing towards the door, the changes coming much are quicker. Toby's arms and legs take on a wider rounder as they slowly merge with his hands and feet, causing Toby to fall to all fours."NO, NO, NO!" Toby started shouting. "This can't be happening to me, it's not possible!" Almost out to the door Toby realizes that he'll have to duck to get through. As he does however his new pudgy-round body grows yet again. "Oh now I've done it." Toby stated as he pushed with his hind legs as hard as he could to no avail, "I'm stuck in the stupid door!" Toby exclaimed in irritation. The final points of the transformation set in; a new tail appears from behind as Toby's face begins to take a better shape for his now large head, his once human ears have now grown into large fan-like extensions, and his noise stretches into a perfectly average sized elephant's trunk. "Well I guess I got what I wanted" Toby remarked still a bit irritated by his current situation, " I got a regular trunk size now. This is so embracing, I'm just glad none of the guys are here to see this…" However, no sooner had Toby finished speaking then he heard Chester's voice coming from the other side of the room. "Hang on guys I lost my lucky coin, Have you seen it?" Chester asked. "Where did you have it last?" Joey replied. "I think I saw it in the locker room." Herb remarked. As the group walked into the pool building they couldn't believe their eyes. They stood in front of Toby for a few minutes, jaws dropped in amazement. "What the hell?" Asked Chester "What's and elephant doing in our locker room?"  "Actually" Toby spoke up, his voice now much deeper, "I'm stuck in the doorway to our locker room. Would you mind going and getting me some help?", "HOLY CRAP IT TALKS!" The other boys exclaimed in unison, right before they fainted and fell over. "Well I guess being an elephant does have some advantages." Toby stated, "But how am I getting out of here? Hey guys could you wake up? I seriously need help, I'm stuck. Guys? GUYS?!?"
